This was a long-term project to help Katana scale their engineering team by hiring top Full Stack Engineers in Estonia or helping them relocate there. We worked together through the time Katana transitioned between Series A and Series B rounds, following the company's high-paced growth.

Hiring process
This project was a “marathon”: we learned how to work long-time on the same role in the same geography. One of the main takeaways for us was establishing a long-term relationship with the candidates in the pipeline. Read about our thoughts on recruitment marathons in this article.
This is how the interview process looked like:
🐝 A 30 mins screening call with Bee’s Knees:
Pitching Katana to the candidate
Questions to the candidate about their experience
Questions to the candidate related to their motivation and cultural fit
Questions to the candidate related to salary, availability, notice period, relocation if applicable
1️⃣ A 30 mins call with Katana’s HR representative
2️⃣ A homework: preferably to be done in Typescript, backend heavy. The candidate has 1 week to complete, but can be given more time. A review takes a couple of days.
3️⃣ Tech interview with the engineering lead
4️⃣ A casual team chat to get to know each other.
